Geology has more impact on our lives than we are probably aware of, dictating the soil, flora and fauna of our environment and having a profound impact on our sense of place. This workshop offers a chance to connect directly with this place, exploring the colours that make up this landscape and have a go at making geo-earth balls and paints, using materials collected from this area. This session will explore the landscapes these colours represent - landscapes that have formed this island and created the materials it is made from and form the bedrock for the essence of place.

Amanda Wallwork

We are delighted to be working with guest artist Amanda Wallwork for this workshop. Amanda is a visual artist whose work is concerned with a continuing enquiry into landscape - a quest for a real understanding of what lies beyond the aesthetic. Her work explores the interaction of the human and natural environment, taking a deeper look at the underlying factors that determine how our land has been formed, used and shaped, how we move through it, the impact we have and the traces we leave behind.

Amanda will be working alongside Eleanor as part of her Arts Council Funded Develop Your Creative Practice project.
